Biennale - Cockatoo Island

Last Saturday I woke up to a beautiful day and decided to head to Cockatoo Island to check out the Biennale exhibion. I've never been to one before and I thought I'd check it out since I missed out on seeing Outpost at Cockatoo Island last year. I'm not really into these kind of events so it was something new and it was a great excuse to get out of the house and take my camera with me. Kim has been asking me to take her too and since I was going to start working again soon, this would have been the last chance for me to take her.
It was an awesome day so I decided to take my CRX out for a drive as well. We made our way to Woolwich Dock and caught a ferry from there instead of Circular Quay. The problem was that we took a couple of wrong turns on the way and google maps took us to the wrong spot! After getting some directions from the locals we made our way to the correct dock and our hopes of making in time for the ferry were very slim since we still had to find parking and with the ferry coming every hour we didn't want to wait an hour for the next one. As we approached the dock we could see people boarding the ferry but luckily there was one free parking spot among all the other taken ones and I jumped on it quick smart!
Again luck was on our side as people were still boarding the ferry and we made a run for it the moment we got out of the car. We were literally the last 2 people that got on the ferry. We were all smiles after that as we made our way to Cockatoo Island.
We got to Cockatoo Island and we were starving so we headed straight for the Asahi noodle bar, which was a total let down! There weren't even that many people yet the wait was at least 30 minutes, there was no way we were going to wait that long. So we checked on the map for some other places to get a feed.
There was this little canteen near the entrance and we just went for a very simple feed which was way cheaper than at Asahi noodle bar and probably tasted just as good haha. It was a very Australian lunch and I loved it, chicken and mushroom pie and steak pie for myself and Kim got herself the chicken and mushroom pie and we shared the chips.
After the feed we decided to check out the exhibition, it was already cool being at Cockatoo Island for the first time but the exhibition added to it and it was great. Lots of great photo opportunities too and I had a great time taking photos at Cockatoo Island, even things that weren't part of Biennale were intriguing. So I'll let the photos do the talking, check em out!
This shot turned out to be one of my favourite photos from the day.
I just couldn't help myself haha.
Another one of my fave.
This one was just weird.
